INDORE: Congress has decided to organise a state-wide agitation on January 9. The main opposition party will seek to corner the government on issues like corruption, non-availability of fertiliser to farmers and poor power supply.
Talking to TOI, state congress president Kantilal Bhuria said party workers--from panchayat to state-level would resort to agitation against the state government and court arrest in protest on January 9.He said the party would intensify campaign against the state government.

Blaming the state government for its failure to deliver on its promises, Bhuria said resentment is brewing against the state government in sections of the society.
p“The state is now excelling only on one front — crime,” said Bhuria adding it is time for new leadership in the state. Bhuria said party’s state working committee meeting would be organised on January 3 wherein action plan would be finalized against the government for next six months. “We are trying to have a popular leader in every district of the state to lead the protest on January 9,” said the PCC president.
Regarding re-constitution of city Congress, which was dissolved on Friday, Bhuria said the new body would be constituted in consultation with all local leaders.
He stressed the need for young blood in the party saying that around 50% of committee members would be young. According to him, the party will give preference to those who have worked at ground level for the party.
